Mountains on Russian Border //

Ghost glanced down at his watch, 10:20. Its been 30 minutes since the team got to their positions. Ghost gripped his sniper rifle, they were to watch until the target reached the rural town. The team was positioned around the town on cliffs and high areas.

"Alright guys this is our guy." Ghost heard his commander through the radio.

Ghost glanced down to the road, he saw a small caravan of four Russian trucks coming to the town. It's hot under this camo sheet. Ghost wiped a bead of sweat from his forehead. The trucks pulled into the town and stopped.

"Don't fire until my mark." His commander's voice buzzed through the mic.

Ghost gripped the sniper rifle tighter. Four men stepped out of each truck, only one was different, he had a light wool jacket, heavy wool cargo pants, and a very expensive Russian pistol.

"All snipers fire on my mark."

Ghost lowered his head into the high powered scope on his rifle. He saw the target man step forward to meet another man, they talked, one handed over a large brief case to the main target.

"Take him out."

Ghost pulled the trigger on the rifle. BANG! All of the teams sniper rifles rang out through out the mountain range. At first the guards were stunned then realized what had happened. They all raised their guns and fired into the canopy of trees where snipers could be hiding.

[Ketic]

"Alright!" Vanessa spoke into her mic. "Remember we need to extract the HVI in the best possible condition we can! Once we land you will have exactly five minutes to get in and get back to the helo! Any questions?"

[Barley]

The helo approached the farming town. Ghost waited in anticipation as the helo dropped altitude.

"GO GO GO!" Ghost gripped the fast rope and pushed off the helo. PSSHH The rope slid between Ghost's hands as he hid the ground detached the line and moved out of the way into a covering position.
That HVI could be in any one of those barns and to add to the difficulty it was dark. Ghost thought to himself as his team slid down the rope.

[Ketic]

Vanessa watched the ground, straining to see what was happening. There had been no gunfire yet and that was a good sign; but the darkness was so hazy that she felt like she wouldn't hear a shot even if one was fired.

"Close the cabin, lets go to response altitude." She said into her mic.

The helo rose, and disappeared into the night.

[Barley]

The team split up into groups of two each one had their own barn to clear.

"Turn on night vision if you got it." Ghost pulled down his night vision goggles. He could see the lasers of his team mates flashing around. He moved closer to the house, there was movement in one of the windows, even though all of the blinds were closed he could see a shadow.

"we're gonna' have to breach, we don't know if there are hostiles." Ghost reached the back door, his partner nodded to him. Ghost attached the charge to the door knob, he got ready to swing around, PCHK! BOOSH! The door swung open, Ghost rushed in and shot the two Russian soldiers.

[Ketic]

Vanessa sat on a seat, listening intently to the radio for any chatter. She hoped everything was going smoothly so far.

[Barley]

Ghost burst into the last room and killed the three remaining Russians inside the building. But what he saw inside the room amazed him, guns, weapons and explosives lined every inch of every wall in side the room. Ghost glanced at his partner. "Take your pick." His partner grinned at him and rushed to one of the walls. Ghost and his partner emerged from the room, Ghost reached to his headset and spoke.

"This is Ghost we had no signs of the HVI returning to the rendezvous point now." Ghost and his partner did one last search and what Ghost found amazed him. Ghost had found a trap door in the basement of the building. It seemed like a never ending tunnel.

"Guys I've got something." Ghost spoke into his mic.

[Ketic]

Vanessa heard a blip from the radar. She was in the seat right next to the pilot and she glanced at the small detection device. Another helo is incoming.

"Do you see that?" She asked the pilot

"Yer, you better radio the ground team." The pilot replied.

Vanessa nodded hurriedly then moved to the cabin. She fished in her backpack and removed her high accuracy radio.

"Ground team this is Dodo, we have another bird inbound.. advise caution."

[Barley]

Ghost and his team filled into the tunnel. Ghost held up his hand, he couldn't see it, it was too dark. He turned on his night vision goggles and was blinded by the flash lights that his team was turning on, no use I have to use my flashlight. Ghost turned on his flash light and followed his team down the tunnel.

[Ketic]

"No response." She said to the pilot as she took a seat in the chair next to him.

"Alright you better not get comfortable." The pilot squinted into the darkness at the approaching 'copter. "That thing is armed, and doesn't look to friendly. Get on the gun."

"I'm not trained or cleared for that!" Vanessa fretted. A vivid image of her previous squad commander falling from the helo after being shot popped into her head.

"Don't have much of a choice!" The pilot yelled as the sound of machine guns filled the air.

Vanessa grabbed the gun controls and began fumbling with them, trying to figure out the system.

[Barley]

The team popped out of the tunnel in a clearing with a small community of houses. Ghost heard distant machine guns coming from where they came from. Ghost turned around and saw dim lights in the darkness moving around like flashlights. Then he realized that these houses had been turned into some sort of base. The machine guns kept going, Ghost turned and saw the dim streaks of tracer bullets, it was happening by the helo.

"Dodo this is Saber is everything alright?" Ghost listened to his commander talk into the radio.

[Ketic]

"We have engaged the enemy bird," Vanessa gasped as she sent a spray of bullets down towards a group of houses. "I repeat we have engaged the enemy bird. Caution is advised in open sky areas, over." She turned her attention back to the task at hand and was lucky enough to send a spray just left of the enemy helo.

[Barley]

"We have to get out of this open field." Ghost followed his commander to nearby house. CRACK! Ghost's commander kicked open the door and filled in. There were no enemies, Ghost searched the house for the HVI. The team came up with nothing, the HVI had to be in this cluster of houses.

"This might get a little hairy." Ghost's commander stated as he got ready to exit the house.

[Ketic]

BOOM! Vanessa shied away as the helicopter exploded about twenty yards away. She laughed in relief but her laugh was cut short as she noticed the shrapnel flying at her helo.

[Barley]

Ghost whirled around to see what exploded. He couldn't see it being he was inside a house, but he did see the russian troops run toward the direction of the helo.

"Dodo this is Saber there is russian troops moving toward your direction advise caution, over."

Ghost stacked up at the house, the team was ready.

[Ketic]

The helo dipped in the air and through her one good eye, Vanessa saw that the pilot had abandoned the controls. She was going to yell at him but right as she began to speak she saw the large piece of shrapnel in his chest.

"Saber, Dodo is going down, I repeat Dodo is going down." Vanessa's voice cracked as she yelled into her radio.

[Barley]

"F**K, we have to get her, Peter and Ghost search the rest of this building." Ghosts commander ran down the stairs.

Ghost and Peter reached the last room, there was talking in Russian and a thud. Peter nodded to Ghost and kicked the door down. The Russian troops went down quickly, but there was an old man who was gagged and bound to a chair.

"Commander I think we got the HVI." Ghost talked into his mic while Peter untied the HVI.
"Good work you're gonna have to make your way to us. Dodo this is Saber we are coming to get you, over."

[Ketic]

Vanessa shook her head to try and clear the ringing in her ears but it didn't work. She sat up and quickly assessed herself. She tasted blood and her ears were ringing but she didn't seem to have any serious injuries. That was lucky.. Vanessa quickly got up and began walking away from the crashed helo when she heard shouting in Russian. Without a second thought she took off into the forest, her radio left behind sitting in a broken pile of plastic and rabble.

After the fire fight with the russians, the team searched the forest for the missing operative. After hours of searching in the thick fog that had covered the area they had to call off the search. Ghost dragged his gun behind him as he walked to the pick up point.

"we are sorry about your lost operative we send teams to search for her."
